This free full day training is an introduction to the Solidarity Economy, a vision and practice to build an alternative to the capitalist economy. Topics that will be covered include:
  • Understanding Capitalism: Land, Labor, Capital in the Extractive Economy, what makes it tick, and why we must resist and transform it;
  • A Just Transition Movement for a Solidarity Economy: Vision and strategy to Fight the Bad, Build the New, Move the Money and Change the Story;
  • Massachusetts Rising: Emerging Solidarity Economy projects like the Ujima Project, Community Land Trusts, and Worker Co-ops taking root in our state, and how to grow the movement.
